Meet Qualifications

  • Athletes and relays qualify for the HSR finals through approved HSR Qualifier Meets.  See the HSR website for a list of meets.
  • An ongoing performance list will be populated on Direct Athletics. There are two divisions, large schools and small schools divisions. (based on IHSAA football classification, success factors are not considered)
  • The top 24 athletes will qualify for each event except high jump (18+ ties) and pole vault (12+ ties).

  • $10 per individual 
  • $40 per relay team
  • $15 extra coaches ONLY wristbands (max 3)

Registration Process

  • Coaches, by registering your athletes on Direct Athletics you are declaring that they will attend and compete at the HSR Finals if they meet the qualifying standards.
  • The HSR Committee would like to provide clarification regarding the entry platforms that will be utilized. All 2026 HSR indoor qualifying meet entries and results will be processed through the DirectAthletics platform; MileSplit will not be used for these meets.
  • For the 2026 high school outdoor track season, the MileSplit platform will be utilized. Accordingly, HSR26 qualifying meet directors and coaches should plan to use their DirectAthletics accounts for all indoor qualifying meets, with only the 2026 outdoor meets being administered through MileSplit.
  • Registration MUST be made from 12:01 AM ET Sunday, March 22nd 2026 through Monday March 23rd 2026.
  • 1. All entries must be made through the coaches Direct Athletics account > Hoosier State Relays Finals. Coaches must use their Direct Athletics account or their schools Direct Athletics account.
  • 2. Entry Fee – $10 per individual entry, $40 per relay team, $15 extra coaches ONLY wristbands (max 3)  
    1. Payment for entries must be paid at the time of registration of your athlete(s), relay(s) and/or coaches.  Payment will be processed by Direct Athletics.  If your athlete(s) or relay(s) do not make the performance list for the HSR Finals a refund will be given within 3-5 business days to the card of payment by Direct Athletics. There will be no payment accepted at the HSR Finals.
    2. The HSR Finals committee recommends that coaches register all athletes wanting to participate regardless of if they are listed in the top 24.  This will ensure that no one is left out from your team.  Many of the top 24 may be on spring break, competing in other events at the meet or just choose not to compete, the top 24 registered athletes/relay teams will be entered in each event.
    3. Schools may enter more than 2 athletes in individual events. All athletes must meet the qualifying standard. Schools are limited to 1 team per relay event.
    4. Pole vault entry will be limited to top 12 + ties & high jump entry will be limited to top 18 + ties. If there is a natural break at 15, that will be the field. All other events will be top 24.  After registrations are complete, if the athletes/relay teams fall into the top 24 (18 for HJ and 12 for PV) that were declared, they will be entered into the HSR Finals.  The HSR Finals committee will go as deep into the list as needed to get 24 declared athletes/relay teams per event per division.
  • 3. Only athletes and relay teams that have been registered Sunday or Monday by their coaches at Direct Athletics will be eligible for consideration to compete in the HSR Finals.

Registration Closes

  • At 11:59 pm ET Monday, March 23, the registration window will close, the top 24 registered athletes/relay teams will be entered.
  • Late registration entries from 12:01 AM Tuesday, March 24 will be $20 per individual entry, $80 per relay team.  
  • No entries will be accepted after midnight Tuesday, March 24.

Meet Managers Please Remember

  • Results of qualifying meets must be posted to Direct Athletics
  • For a meet to be a qualifier for the HSR Finals, the meet MUST use Direct Athletics for entry and results and must be a large invite or conference meet that is listed on the qualifying meets page of this website.
  • New this year 2026, Direct Athletics will convert lap races run on flat tracks to bank track times.  The conversions will be done on Direct Athletics site and should NOT be converted by qualifying meet managers. Meet managers will simply report the times like in the past.
  • Running events must be F.A.T. (No hand held times permitted)
  • Only the following increments will be accepted. If other performances are turned-in, they will be rounded down to the lesser increment. (Such as 10-4 will be given 10-3)
    Boys and Girls vault 3″ increments
    Boys and Girls high jump 1″ increments
  • The HSR Finals committee will be accepting 55 M Dash and 55 M Hurdle times, they will automatically be converted to 60 M by Direct Athletics for qualifying purposes.
  • No 3000 meter conversions will be accepted.
